HAI FRIENDS I am Jinu Shamsudeen pursuing my 6th sem b-tech studies at college of engineering ,Perumon. in electronics and communication .I am here to share my experiences while attending the Keane selection process. Keane came to our college at 24th march 2008. around 256 students attended the selection process , and around 41 were selected.
Keane has mainly 4 selection rounds.
1. APTITUDE TEST
2. GROUP DISCUSSION
3. TECHNICAL INTERVIEW
4. HR INTERVIEW
The test pattern was same as previous placement papers. There is no negative marking. There was essay writing about how college life has improved
Abt english those who have a fair knowledge of basic grammar is able to clear the test. Logical section was also easy. Questions from syllogisms, and seating arrangements were asked.
After the first round from 256 students about 125 cleared the test.
The next round was the gd. The main factor wat the keane was looking for was how confident ru. So be confident. Believe in urself. The GD group consists of 12 memebers . ther wer almost 13 gd panels. The topic of our group was “ GOVERNMENTS CONTRIBUTION TOWARD IT INDUSTRY”. Be confident while u speak. It doesn’t matter whether u support or oppose the subject..The matter is how confident r u while u speak.
70 cleared the gd .
The third round was the technical round. Here also be confident don’t be panic. They only ask u basic questions, go through the basic programs of C like reverse the string, palindrome,etc.The technical round is intended just to check how keen r we in studying our subjects. So I repeat be cool and confident while u speak. Don’t care abt how much right is
50 cleared the tech interview
The fourth round is the hr round. In this round they ask questions based on
Finally 41 were selected after hr interview.
Don’t be upset loosing one or two chances. This is my 5th attempt. I have been rejected at Infosys,Siemens, Satyam, L&T. Frankly speaking I havent cleared the first round of all these companies. So don’t loose

Hello friends ! I am sameer , a student of B-Tech ECE 6th Semester. It was my third chance for the placement which i got On 6th March, When KEANE INTERNATIONAL (INDIA) visited our campus for campus placement. And by God’s grace , I got selected in KEANE . Our MST’s were also going on.
I also want to add that before being selected in Keane, I was unsuccessful to make it in INFOSYS and PATNI Computers. So after being rejected by these company, I analyzed my errors and weaknesses. So this time I did not repeat them.2 colleges participated in it; ours i.e. Lovely Institutes and GNE Ludhiana. round about 350 students appeared for it.
There were 4 rounds of selection
1. Aptitude Test ( with one essay writing )
2. GD (Group Discussion)
3. Technical Interview
4. HR Interview
Before starting aptitude test, they gave us an essay “How your college has enabled your career .”
Aptitude test: Total 35 questions in 60 minutes
• 15 questions of Quant
• 8 questions of English Usage (very easy)
• 12 questions on Verbal Ability (very easy)
There was sectional cut-off also. There were 2 sets of the paper.After an hour, Also I want to mention that cut-off in KEANE Is round about 55 % (very easy to crack this paper )
Then they announced the names of candidates who cleared the aptitude test. I was one of them. They divided them into 15 groups of 10 students each. I was in 11th group.
Our GD topic was “Now a days AMERICA is strengthening its relationships with INDIA , should INDIA go with AMERICAN deals or with RUSSIAN deals . ".
Then our moderator gave us round about 4-5 minutes . Then he allowed us to start the GD .in GD just be confident and make some revel lent points and also you must be a good listener besides being a good speaker. then i also got selected in the GD .
(THIS ROUND WAS ALSO VERY EASY)
TECHNICAL INTERVIEW....
ME: may i come in sir ?
Interviewer: yes , please come .
ME: may i please have a seat ?
Interviewer: yes , sure .
Interviewer: (he saw my resume very carefully and ask me) Why there is a fall down in my %?Other questions were: As i am from electronics branch so he asked me abt my training and he asked me to completely explain my project. So be prepare for ur projects.Then he asked me abt c++, he only asked me the fundamentals of c++. Just hv the basic knowledge of programming.In the interview they just check ur confidence, so whatever u say just be confident and logical then i cleared this round also .....then after 10 minutes i was called for HR interview...
ME: may i come in sir ?
Interviewer: yes , please come .
ME: may i please have a seat ?
Interviewer: yes , sure .
Interviewer: can u go any where ?
ME: yes sir , sure . then he gave me the full information about wher would be my training .. for how many months it would be...etc.
Interviewer: ok , mr.sameer , any question ?
ME: What is my carrier growth in keane and what other programming languages should I learn before joining.
Interviewer: he explains…. (always ask 1 or 2 quest. It increases ur chances)
Interviewer: Now u can go.
Me: Thank u sir. total 33 students were selected from our college. I was also one of those lucky ones.
I really want to thank my College Placement Cell, My Parents, all my teachers and my frnds .they help me a lot. And at the end I just want to say that just be confident during the whole process, just don’t think of ur result, hv faith in GOD and believe urself.

Keane visited our campus on 10 March around 8am..They took
1.Aptitude test.
2.Group Discussion.
3.Technical interview.
4. Hr interview.
Total 246 students appeared from our campus out of which 40 were selected.
Written apti test was easy (except one or two quanti which i couldn,t solve) as they followed the same pattern that we got in previous ques papers in freshersworld. English section was damn easy. Even logical was easy. Probable chain rule and series problems were absent. But they had three different sets having same questions, but in different order.
Next round was Gd,there were 8-10 ppl in each group. Those who moderated the gd were cool,quiet generous and helping. Our topic was “ Can India be a technical super power by 2015”.My group was a very gud and it had 7 of our class mates. All of us speak well, I spoke 3 times in gd and at last he asked everyone to conclude, dont ever speak irrelevant and out of topic just 4 the sake of speaking.But do speak. They selected 8/10 ppl frm our grou,at end of gd he collected the resume of selected ppl and stapled it with the respective answer sheets and rough sheet.
out of 111,66 cleared the the gd.
Next it was technical interview. The interviewer who took my tech interview was really nice and cooperative.I am a chemical engg student ,so first of all he asked me y IT JOB and not CHEMICAL.Then he asked me the basics of array,pointer,datastructure(stack,queue,linklist),algo of reversing string,printing the ascii value of character, and then he asked few questions on positive and negative testing on mobile phones. He didn,t asked me a single ques from my departmental subjects.
It lasted for 30-35 mins.Be confident maintain eye contact. stick to ur words and try to kep a gud smile on ur face.Technical Interview and gd are the main elimination round so never take them lightly……
Out of 66,50 cleared the technical round.
Then the h.r interview,it was just like chatting with the h.r as it is thought that once u reach hr round u are 99% placed but keane ppl eliminated many ppl in hr also. So don’t take it lightly also. They will ask few ques like
1.About ur preference in posting and position.
3.Entrance rank,dept rank.
4.Backlogs

In Caritor (Keane now) there are four levels
1) Written test (in that you also have an small essay writing)
2) GD
3) Technical interview
4) HR interview
1) Written test:
Written test consists of 3 sections
Mathematical (15 questions each 4 marks)
Logical (10 questions each 3 marks)
Verbal (10 questions each 1 mark)
Time=1hr
Sectional cut off was there (So attempt from all sections) but no -ve marking.
Apart from that 1 hr they will give time for essay writing (To us they told to write essay on first, 10 min was there for that, In that time they distributed the question papers)
Aptitude: This section was easy, but you should focus on accuracy because it has the maximum weightage.
For this section you better go through RS Agarwal (QA) especially chapters like time & work, time and distance, ratio proportion, ages, allegation & mixture, average, SI,CI, Train problems..
Question mainly came from following sections..
1) 3 cat can kill 3 rats in 3 minutes then how much time 50 cats will take to kill 100 rats?
a) 1 b) 2 c) 3 d) 4
2) Three types of animals, cockroach, mice and crow are there in a room. There are totally 50 heads and 150 tails in the room. No of cockroach is twice than the no mice. What are the no mice in the room?
a) 5 b) 10 c) 15 d) none of these
Hint: no of leg of cockroach is 6, mice 4 and crow 2.
3) From a chess board three blocks are chosen at random. What is the probability that the three blocks are from same diagonal? (Sorry I can,t remember options)
4) There are two bottles of alcohols, one is having 40% alcohol and other is having 19% alcohol. Some part from first bottle is replaced from 2nd bottle. Resultant mixture in first bottle is having 26% of alcohol. How much part from 1st bottle was replaced?
a) 1/5th b) ¼th c) 1/3rd d) none
5) A and B can do a piece of work in 15 and 20 days respectively. They worked together for 6 days then B is replaced by C. The work was finished in next 4 days. In how many days C alone can do the work.
6) Some problem related to train in which two different trains are starting from two different stations but not at same time. At what time they will meet in between?
7) Average tempt between Monday -Wednesday is 37 and average tempt between Tuesday-Thursday is 34. Monday,s tempt 4/5th of Thursday,s tempt. What is the tempt on Thursday.
8) Inside a square a circle is inscribed. What is the ratio of areas of circle to that of square?
9) One problem was related to age (it was easy only)
English: This section was very easy, with average knowledge of English u can clear this section. Generally general use of articles, prepotions. Some general uses of English
Reasoning: This section was really very tough. Questions were very lengthy; pattern was similar to TCS reasoning. U have to concentrate hard on this section.
Few questions were,
12 people blood-relation was given, they asked no of male in that..
One question of sitting arrangement on round table of three different couples, they asked some body,s husband.
One question related to van diagram,
Some question related to DI.
2) GD:
This is a rejection round. How u communicate is very important. U have to open ur mouth at least 2-3 times and give some valid points. Don,t fight in GD at all. Our GD was very cool. from our group they have taken 8 members out of 12. but normally they took 5-6 only. Try to start the GD. They told every body to conclude one by one.
1) Impact of Indian cinema on youth
2) Should sports person come for advertisement
3) Nuclear family or joint family ..
3) Tech. Interview:
Go through your resume, they are going to ask question from that what u mentioned in ur resume. Revise your projects well. Question asked to me were,
Introduce yourself.
1. I cleared WIPRO,S WASE program in UG, they asked many questions from that.
2. They asked some basic question from OS,like what is os,types of os, functions of os, Process, semaphores etc.
3. Some question from DBMS and Access (I did one project in that)
4. Then they asked questions from my 2nd project which I did in Rational rose and UML
5. He gave one simple input and told to draw UML diagram.
6. My interview last for 10-12 min.
7. The person was very cool
8. So be clear and confident in giving ur answers.
4) HR Interview:
It is the last hurdle for the KEANE,
My HR interview was very cool,
He was the same person who has presented the PPT and also was in my GD panel.
So when I entered to room he told ,Nice to meet u 2nd time,
In this round they used to ask some general questions only
Question asked to me were,
1. introduce urself
2. I am from Jharkhand, so he asked how u came to Pondicherry, and many question related to it,
3. What is your idea of higher education?
4. What location u will prefer to work?
5. What timing u will prefer?
6. What type of module u would like to work? And many questions like this
7. This round last around 15 minutes
8. So friends be confident in giving your answers.
9. Here they are going to check your confidence and communication only
Note: they used to check the essay also so write it clearly, avoid spelling and grammatical mistakes....

hi friends, i have been placed in keane/caritor recently. Hope u must be knowing that keane is now acquired by caritor.keane visited our campus on 21st sept. 2007. Total aprox. 200 students appeared for written and finally 35 were selected after H.R.
procedure consist of 4 rounds:
1- Written(essay, apti.,verbal & logical resoning)
2- G.D.
3- Technical Interview
4- H.R. Interview
All process was very fast and we did not get any time to think any thing.........well at the end all was fine........
1-Written:-
it was very easy . first we were asked to write an essay (5-10 lines) 5 min. were given .then question paper was distributed there were 35 ques.
(i)15 apti each 4 marks,
(ii)10 verbal each 3 marks
(iii) 10 logical reasoning each 1 mark.
there was sectional cut off of 60% and no negetive marking.
each section was easy. only reasoning ques. were looking long,but they were also easy.
My suggestion to u is don,t get scared with the length of reasoning ques.
for apti. refer to R.S.Agarwal,that is enough. ques. were frm trains,time &work, mixture rule, average, profit & loss.
u need not worry abt Verbal section.
logical resoning section consists of ques. like seating arrangement.
2-Group Discussion:- 9 groups each of 11 students were constituted . frm my group 6 were selected. Some of the topics given were-
Mobiles should be banned in clgs or not
20-20 cricket
3-Technical Interview:-
since i was frm chemical branch so he did not ask me any thing frm programming languages.they dont ask
programming languages frm non-technical branches.He just asked analytical ques.
firstly he asked me to introduce myself.
he asked me " if u found ur fone dead what would u do" write steps on a paper.
he asked me to do similar procedure for "if ur pen stops working in class room".
also "write steps involved in manufacturing any product".
i was very much surprised at these ques. he read all my steps very carefully. he was just just checking my analytical mind.
he asked ques. related to working on MS windows,very general like-difference between windows explorer and internet exporer etc.
some other ques. like "being a student of chemical why do u want to join s/w cmpny" .I suggest u if u r frm non technical branch u must be
prepared with these ques.
something about "testing".as they recruite non technical branches for testing.and many other ques........
and last ques. was -"do u want to ask any ques".always ask atleast one ques. and max three ques.
My interview lasted for half an hour.
finally he sent me to H.R.
4- H.R:-
he asked general H.R. ques. like :
-Introduce urself
-why do u opted for chemical
-why do u want to opt for s/w
-where is ur native city located
-where have u done ur summer trai

and many other.but very general. i suggest u Be confident in giving your answers that is key to success in an interview.
finally after all the interviews were over they took half an hr. to declare the result . i was very -very much happy after listening my name.....as i had faced failures in many cmpnies like- u.s.tech,l&t,wipro,i-flex,l&t infotech,satyam. this was my seventh cmpny.so i was on on seventh sky after listening my name.........so never lose hope..because everyday is not everyone,s day.....try to your max limit and believe in god.

Am doing fourth year in vr Siddhartha engg.college in vij,ap.my stream is electronics n communication engineering.
In third year second semester ,wipro came 2 our college for first slot.am selected 4 that company.i enjoyed my holidays thinking whole world is in my hands.when the holidays coming 2 its end,I came 2 know that wipro cancelled all the selected members in Andhra Pradesh thinking that the selection procedure is not fair.they cancelled al the selected members through out the ap.just think about that situation.
2.infosys is our second slot-failed in written test.
3.virtusa –failed in written test
4.syntel-cleared written,gd,hr n technical.but I didn’t find my name in the final list.
5.wipro re-assessment-failed in written test.
6.kenexa-cleared written(2 rounds),technical,hr interview but I did n’t find my name in final list.
7.sonata-failed in written test.
8.l&t infotech-cleared written,gd,failed in technical.
Atlast,I decided 2 keep smile on my face n leave the tensions outside before entering into the hall of keane interview.
POINTS I KEEP IN MY MIND DURING KEANE INTERVIEW:
That’s all,am selected atlast for the keane(caritor) in my ninth attempt.
On going into the details of keane selection procedure;
The written test consists of 3 sections:
1.Aptitude-15 questions(1q=4marks)
2.Verbal-10 questions(1q=1 mark)
3.Logical-10 questions(1q=3 marks)
I think there is sectional cutoff.But the sectional cutoff is low for us.Keane is taking a gud number from all the places that it is visiting.so,concentrate on it.
The questions I remembered :
Ø Aptitude:
1.Two rockets x and y started from two different places.after passing each other,x reached the place of y in 1 hour.y reached the place of x in 9 hours)
2.3 cats can kill 3 rats in 7 minutes.50 cats can kill 100 rats in?
Ans.14 mins(not sure).
3.same type question.
4. 1,8,60,……find the sequence.(different numbers).
Verbal:
All questions r easy.little grammar needed.
Logical:
All questions r time taking.but we can get the answers by giving some time 2 them.so,time management is very very imp in keane written test.
Total time duration is 1 hour.they will giv an essay 2 write before starting the written test.
Our essay is to write on a tour that u have gone recently.time is 15 mins.then,the written test starts.( u can find the same questions I got, in the model papers that are in remaining papers).
Group discussion:
Interviewer asked us 2 tell the topic.all requested their suggestions.i requested the topic
Is higher education necessary.sir approved my topic n asked 2 start the gd.All we r ready wit our points.But,a boy who is my best friend srikanth dominated the group.we r not getting chance 2 start.i think,the situation may loose my hand.suddenly,I added my point 2 him n gav my work 2 the girl sat beside me.then,the process continued 2 all.but,sir could not find which one did better.so,he suggested us 2 tel another topic.then,a girl suggested about movies.we mould that topic ,are the movies effecting the youth.Now,we all did the topic better.but,4 students did n’t involve into the topic.atlast,sir gave the chance 2 them.but they failed 2 use it.then all the six members excluding 4 are selected 4 technical interview.

Interviewer was very cool...They used to check the essay also so write it clearly, avoid spelling and grammatical mistakes...they asked to me, branch related questions. specially if u r a non IT student... then why do u want to switch...About ur Projects... Training...My Interview duration was 45 minutes..30 minutes was average...
Question asked to me were,
Introduction
I cleared WIPRO’S Exam, they asked many questions from that.
They asked many question from Data Structure, C++, C specially from pointers.
So be clear and confident in giving ur answers.
4) HR Interview
It was the last process for the KEANE, My HR interview was very cool, Interviewe was very cool. In this round they used to asked some general questions.
Question asked to me were,
1) introduce urself
2) I am from west UP so she asked many questions about politics,
3) I m from UP Board so she asked which board is best UP or CBSE. About higher education?
4) What location u will prefer to work?
5) About UP and Karnataka politics... there current position in IT field, Economical view.
This round last around 30 minutes

3) From a chess board three blocks are chosen at random. What is the probability that the three blocks are from same diagonal?

This section was very easy, with average knowledge of English u can clear this section. Generally general use of articles, prepotions. Some general uses of English
Reasoning:
This section was really very tough. Questions were very lengthy; pattern was similar to TCS reasoning. U have to concentrate hard on this section.
Few questions were,
12 people blood-relation was given, they asked no of male in that…
One question of sitting arrangement on round table of three different couples, they asked some body’s husband.
One question related to van diagram,
Some question related to DI.
2)GD
This is a rejection round. How u communicate is very important. U have to open
1) impact of Indian cinema on youth
2) should sports person come for advertisement
3) nuclear family or joint family …
3)Tech. Interview
Go through your resume, they are going to ask question from that what u mentioned in
Question asked to me were,
HR Interview
It is the last hurdle for the KEANE, My HR interview was very cool, He was the same person who has presented the PPT and also was in my GD panel. So when I entered to room he told ‘ Nice to meet u 2nd time’ In this round they used to asked some general questions only Question asked to me were,
1. introduce urself
2. I am from Jharkhand, so he asked how u came to
3. What is your idea of higher education?
4. What location u will prefer to work?
5. What timing u will prefer?
6. What type of module u would like to work? And many questions like this
7. This round last around 15 minutes
8. So friends be confident in giving your answers.
9. Here they are going to check your confidence and communication only
Note: they used to check the essay also so write it clearly, avoid spelling and grammatical mistakes…..
