ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGG. ATTEMPTED ON APR 4 2011
The paper has two sections..
sec-1: general aptitude 50ques
sec-2: technical (instrumentation for me) 100 ques.
Time: 150 minutes only
NO NEGATIVE MARKING

In general apti abt 15 ques were on G.K. They mainly concentrated in sports( commonwealth games, IPL, hockey).
Remaining 35 in sec-1 are very simple and no preparation required.
They gave ques from "finding odd one, series completion, figures, syllogism, profit and loss and venn diagram type ques".

THE APTITUDE PART IS VERY EASY, SO BETTER PREPARE FOR TECHNICAL SECTION VERY WELL. NO PREPARATION IS NEEDED FOR APTITUDE SECTION.

section 2:
There we have technical questions. all are basics. 
so prepare all basics.

Main areas:(approx)
STLD (15 QUES)
INSTRUMENTATION( 30 ques)
MICROCONTROLLERS (10 ques)
COMMUNICATIONS (10 ques)
MOTORS (7 ques)
ELECTRONICS(remaining)

Some ques  I remember:
1. full form of LVDT..........
2. prob on prop delay
3. reliability means...........
4. a divide by 78 needs............
(3 prob were given on module counters)
5. transfer funtion of low pass rc filter..........
6. three ques on telemetry..............(say whether it is anolog or digital, technique used, wch is better analog or digital)
7. 3 ques on PID controllers
so all are basics.. prepare INSTRUMENTATION and STLD fst.. questions are only from important topics.
Time was not sufficient for me. do it very fast......
since it is a paper and pen test(i.e, we have to circle crct option with a pen in an OMR sheet some time will be wasted there), finally we get abt 50 sec for each ques.. so dnt waste time on one ques.. do ur best. try to read all questions in paper.
