US TECHNOLOGY PAPER ON 7th FEBRUARY 2008

Hi I am ASHISH KUMAR FROM BIT MEERUT; I AM SELECTED IN UST-GLOBAL (It’s a good US based company) UST-GLOBAL ( US TECHNOLOGY) PAPER ON 07th & 08th FEBRUARY 2008  MIET Meerut , (U.P.) 

The total recruitment procedure was divided into 3 rounds...
1. Written Test
2.  Group Discussion cum Case Study Discussion
3.  Personal Interview (Technical cum HR) 

ROUND -1 WRITTEN TEST
I had my written test on 7th Feb. the test was of 1 hour + 10 minutes... (71+20) questions. It was divided into 5+1 sections.

Section 1: Analytical reasoning (R.S.AGGARWAL)
·         No. of squares
·         No. of triangles

Section 2: Quantitative aptitude (ABHIJIT GUHA & R.S.AGGARWAL)
·         Average
·         Direction
·         Percentage
·         Clock
·         Calendar
·         Profit and Loss
·         Speed Time
·         Time work

Section 3: Non Verbal Reasoning (R.S.AGGARWAL)
·         Series Completion
·         Analogy

Section 4: Logical Reasoning (R.S.AGGARWAL)

Section 5: Situation Problem, Verbal Reasoning, Cubes and Dice ((R.S.AGGARWAL) 14B)

Section 6: Swapping and Key Dictionary Problems (20 questions in 10 minutes) 

Don’t read instructions of this section   

Each section was having its individual cut-off and you need to clear the cut off of SIX sections to move in the next round there was no negative marking. The section which is toughest has the lowest cutoff. So better attempt all questions. And a part of that section on your own. So you can take away the cutoff. Manage your time so that you can give equal time to all 6 sections. And attempt 80% questions in each section.   

Overall out of 700+ only 230 could make it to the next round.   

ROUND 2 GROUP DISCUSSION cum Case Study Discussion (15 minutes, 2 topics)   

Well I had the GD round on 8th Feb. GD was simple. All you need to be just follow all the GD norms. The people at US TECH are real nice. They just tried to make a cool and friendly environment before GD so that all students feel comfortable.

GD was around 15 minutes. (2 topics, one we have to choose ourself)

Topics were:-
·         Orkut(chosen by me)
·         Finance
·         Is or Was(given by panel)

For Case study:
·         If you are in jungle and u have given 5 things so give priority to these items: Bread, Water, Matchbox, Compass and Axe
·         Give Bharat Ratna to any one: Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi
·         Select ICC team from all over world and u have to beat AUS   

Out of 230 only 90 were selected for the interview.   

ROUND 3 INTERVIEWS (Technical cum HR)
The most waited round. I had my interview on 8th Feb. For all branches interview was technical. They just check your confidence level and if you can match company requirements.

My interview was as follow....

Int: Come in
Me: Standing near chair
Int: Please Sit Down
Me: Thank you sir
Int: Ashish, tell me abt Ur college
Me: Discipline and more concern over practicals
Int: What are the languages you known?
Me: Java
Int: what in java?
Me: Almost everything
Int: Then he asked everything related web technologies, security aspects, features of ur project
Me: told
Int: Aspects related to banking websites
Me: Session Management, Cryptography, XML
Int: What are the websites do you access?
Me: google, howstuffworks, gmail, Wikipedia, esnips, Orkut etc.
Int: What is Turing Machine?
Me: told
Int: Graph Theory
Me: told
Int: Extra currics
Me: Told
Int: do you have any problem working with people from different places?
Me: No
Int: Nice talking to you, Do you have any question from me?
Me: What are the languages we should learn before joining UST- Global
Int: telling, but I was not listening (In mind that I am selected)
Int & Me: Firm Handshake with confidence & smile
Me: Going out of room

Finally total 43 were selected, and I was in lucky ones…..
Tips:
·         Be confident
·         Always sing song to make yourself busy and cool
·         Be honest in every stage of recruitment
·         Enjoy every moment of life
·         Be faith in God
·         Don’t tell to too much persons that company is coming for campus, tell after being selected
·         Do your best, and you will be selected
