2 Eligibility:

a The retired staff should not have been covered under the Safety related Retireme Scheme/LARSGESS Removed/ Dismissed/ Compulsorily Retired employees are not eligible for re-engagement.

Monthly remuneration of a retired employee being re-engaged shall be determined by reduce pension from his/her last basic pay drawn (ie Basic pay + DA)

b The re-engaged staff is engaged initially for two years up-to 15032020 as per Boa instructions.

Suitability / competency of the staff shall be adjudged and record of safety as well as 0th operational requirements as needed are adequately will be assessed/adjudged by a commi nominated for this purpose Decision of committee shall be final The selected retired staff has to undergo medical examination for medical fitness of appropriate category from the designated authorities The re-engagement shall be discontinued with effect from the date of posting of regul employee on the post for which re-engagement is made The retired employees selected for re-engagement shall strictly abide by all the terms a conditions of the re-engagement scheme from time to time.




Age: The re-engaged staff will work up to 65 years of age, the maximum limit as per Board instruction

Western Railway in its present form came into existence on 5th November, 1951 by the merger of its forerunner, the erstwhile Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BB&CI), with other State Railways viz, Saurashtra, Rajputana and Jaipur. The BB&CI Railway was itself incorporated in 1855, starting with the construction of a 29 mile broad gauge track from Ankleshwar to Utran in Gujarat state on the West Coast. In 1864, the railway was extended up to Mumbai.
