a)Must have passed VIII Class
b) Practical sea experience for 4 (four) years as able bodied Seaman or qualified Ex-Naval Boatswain or cadet C) Must know swimming

Scale of Pay: Rs21000-53500 (pre revised scale ) Rs.
32500-83800 (Revised Scale)
Age Limit for direct recruitees : Completed 18 years but not 38 years Upper age limit is relax-able by 5 years for SC candidates
