The Role ResponsibilitiesJob SummaryThe Bank is deploying a Cloud VDI solution on Microsoft Azure that will provide virtual desktops on demand to the bank's users A dynamic individual is required to join the Virtual Desktop Services to handle the design and delivery of this Cloud VDI platform to the bank The candidate will also be required to specialize in the security aspects of the EUC services The role as an Azure DevOps Engineer will involve both Cloud VDI and related Azure solution design and delivery The engineer would be responsible to develop the infrastructure as a code required to deliver and manage this service on the Cloud.

The role will collaborate closely with the Cloud Engineering team, Desktop operations team and the Security architecture teams in designing and deploying the cloud platform In addition, the role will require to develop working relationships with other technology and business peers to communicate and achieve delivery objectives The role is accountable for the timely delivery of both infra and processes for the services in scope and to ensure the deployed service performs within the defined SLAs post go-live This role requires not only strong working knowledge of Azure Cloud and Azure Virtual Desktop but also related underlying technologies like Networks, Identity and Access management, Security frameworks, etc Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the business requirements and design the Cloud VDI platform in line with the bank's architectural standards.

  • Create a strategy for establishing a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in Azure
  • Create a strategy to build the Azure landing zone's for Azure Virtual desktop environment
  • Create the Azure Cloud Adoption framework, design patterns and well-architected for Azure Virtual desktop environment
  • Engage with the different technology teams in integrating and implementing the platform
  • Accountable for the design and implementation of the Cloud VDI platform.

  • Provides guidance, consultancy and advisory services to the various teams involved in the build and run of the VDI solution
  • Interface with project teams to provide infrastructure implementation guidance and provides subject matter expertise to assess and implement the VDI solution
  • Provide L4 support for issues on the VDI platform
  • Responsible for the VDI product lifecycle management - product upgrades integrations, migrations
  • Individual contributor to design, implement and manage the Azure cloud environment using Infrastructure as a code - using Terraform, Jenkins and bitbucket.

  • Knowledge in the Hashicorp Packer and Azure Image builder will be a plus
  • Knowledge in Active Directory and Azure Active Directory is a plus
  • Focus on stakeholder management, adoption and roll out of the service in the bank

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 10 years as an established infrastructure engineering professional working in the related technology infrastructure design, implementation, systems administration and support or engineering
  • 5 years of experience in deploying and managing Azure solutions
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing Infrastructure as a Code using DevOps tools and Continuous integration and Continuous delivery implementation
  • Self-starter, capable of working without direction and able to deliver technical projects from scratch
  • Enterprise IT Infrastructure - Server hardware, SAN, Network technologies.

  • Good experience on scripting tools ie PowerShell and Python, etc
  • Very good understanding of ITIL service framework
  • Sound problem analysis and resolution abilities.

  • Significant working knowledge in the following
  • Extensive experience with Hashicorp Terraform

  • M&E, design, and build

  • Windows Server, Linux, Windows Desktop
Documentation Skills
  • Should have good knowledge on technical writing, authoring technical documentation
