Data Quality Engineer - Validation and AutomationA high performing individual contributor who acts as a mentor to more junior engineers, applies new engineering principles to improve existing systems, and is responsible for leading complex, well-defined projects Data is a cornerstone of all products Expedia delivers From transactional data to analytical data, from relational databases to data streams to data lakes maintaining data quality and integrity is vital to the larger organizationAs the Data Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to and executing a data quality roadmap with a focus on building and delivering robust automated data validation suites You will collaborate with data producers, data consumers, and engineers to help you deliver the best solution.

This is a brand-new role within the newly formed Quality Center of Excellence (QCE) team within the Product and Technology organization Our charter is to enable all product development teams across EG to build in quality best practices to deliver products and services that delight our travelers, partners, and agentsWhat you'll do:Automation of data integrity/data quality test casesDevelop data quality metrics and standards for different types of data to ensure that it is high quality and error-freeConfirm compliance to data quality models to identify issues with the data and recommending solutions to improve the data qualityReviewing data quality protocols, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with industry standardsCoordinate with the automation platform teams to translate and determine technical requirements for the Data Quality Suite of applications Conducting data quality audits to identify any issues with accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data within an organization's data storesRecommending data quality solutions that may include automating manual processes or developing a new application to handle the data more efficientlyWho you are:3+ years' experience in the data quality and validation spaceExperience with large scale databases, data streaming (Kafka), and data martsExperience with ETL3+ years data integrity test strategies for large scale organizations3+ years development experience in either Java, Python, or ScalaKnowledge about master data management and data governance practices and processes at-scaleExperience with metadata, data quality and data governance concepts#LI-SR1
