You will be guiding the work with the appropriate support from our selected Design Agency partners, the relationships and networks that deliver this way of working will be your network to own and manageThe front-end design will distil the 'why' for our brands This will include crafting high quality, insightful briefs which are clearly connected to consumer problems and opportunities This will include exploring areas such as design opportunities, problem definition, potentially performing and analysing consumer centric design research, ideation, concept creation, development and selectionStepping into the Creative space, this will be the process of understanding the potential of 'what' This will include sketching, concept creation and development and is really about bringing the opportunities to life in ways that support the communication of the opportunity.

Design Engineering overlaps the creative space and begins to explore the intricacies of 'how' Development in this space includes CAD, prototyping, and simulation This will largely happen alongside industry experts and will see you landing the opportunities explored in the front end of design, into feasible ideas which deliver high-quality brand experiencesYou will have experience as a senior designer, driving design thinking across programs You will be a first-class practitioner of design methodology and tools and enjoy channelling that knowledge into others You will act as a point of excellence for Design Management evangelising design centric approaches within the organisation, and be a role model for managing external agencies in a powerful and efficient way.

  • Be the resident expert in design thinking and the broader ecosystem of experience and service design practices
  • Drive awareness, education and adoption of design methodology amongst the organisation
  • Partner with and guide project teams to scope, plan and brief innovation projects grounded in consumer insight, technology and trends to create new sources of growth.

  • Approach the design work through the eyes of the consumer, constantly evaluating how the experiences interfaces you produce fit within the wider ecosystem
  • Create strategic framing for initiatives and projects, ensuring that future experiences/ portfolios/ platforms are aligned with business and brand objectives
  • Evangelise, own and embed the holistic experience briefing approach across Oral Care
  • Champion an experimental 'maker' (prototyping) culture and approach to the exploration of ideas to effectively bring visions/ recommendations to life
  • Develop criteria and point of view when presenting to stakeholders, guiding them through the flow, rationale and evidence that supports our design decisions.

  • Manage collaborative and powerful external relationships in all areas of design and consult in the distribution of external design budget
  • Build strategic relationships with relevant and senior stakeholders in the business
  • Create valuable alliances between R&D and Brand teams to ensure the translation of brand vision and strategy into a coherent image across all touchpoints with the consumer
  • Drive design value from end to end by establishing ways to ensure design quality and effectiveness
  • Track design activities, resources and impact.

  • Good understanding of relevant markets and the FMCG landscape
