The Central Passport Organization, a subordinate office of Ministry of External Affairs invites applications for the post of Passport Officers in Level -12 (78800-209200) and Deputy Passport Officer in Level - 11 (67700-208700) of Pay Matrix from amongst officers of the Central Government/State Government/Union Territory Administrations on deputation basis under the following Passport Offices:-

ment thereto on a regular basis in posts in Pay Level-11 or

 

 

equivalent in the parent cadre or department : and

 

 

(b) possessing the following educational qualifications and

 

 

experience :

 

 

(i) Bachelor's degree from a recognised University or Institute;

 

 

(ii) Ten years experience in Passport or Consular or Emigration

 

 

or Administration or Finance or Accounts or Vigilance work, in

 

 

a Central or State Government Office.

 

 

 

Deputy

3 (Three) :

(a) (i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent

Passport

Delhi, Jalandhar, Surat

cadre or department; or

Officer

 

(ii) with five years service in Level-10 of the pay matrix or

 

 

equivalent rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis

 

 

in the parent cadre or department; and

 

 

(b) possessing the following educational qualifications and

 

 

experience :

 

 

(i) Bachelor's degree from a recognised University or Institute;

 

 

(ii) Seven years experience in Passport or Consular or

 

 

Emigration or Administration or Finance or Accounts or Vigilance

 

 

work, in a Central or State Government office

 

 

 

The actual number of vacancy of Passport Officer and Deputy Passport Officers under the respective Passport Office may increase / decrease due to administrative reasons.

About Ministry Of External Affairs
The Ministry was initially the Ministry of External Affairs and Commonwealth Relations, a holdover from the British Raj. It was renamed the Ministry of External Affairs in 1948. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru held the portfolio as an additional charge till his death in 1964 and it was only then that a separate Minister with Cabinet rank was appointed. The Ministry is the cadre controlling authority of the Indian Foreign Service, the service is wholly under the administration and supervision of the External Affairs Ministry.
