Senior Quality Engineer Job In Teradata In Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India

• 6+ years of QA/Test development and validation experience
• Graduate or Post Graduate in Computer Science or Electronics with knowledge on Database concepts & SQL is highly desirable
• Working knowledge on at least one cloud platform - Azure / Google Cloud / AWS and/or VMWare
• UNIX/Linux system administration experience and at least one programming/scripting language is a must, preferably Python
• Knowledge of CI/CD tool chain - Jenkins, GitHub, Etc, is a plus
• Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and to leverage that knowledge for results analysis and problem solving
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with members of Engineering and Quality groups
• Strong understanding of test processes
• Results oriented working within a collaborative team
• Teradata Database and Client Utilities experience is a plus
• Proficiency in tools including Github, Jira, Wiki, Artifactory & Jenkins
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Mentor other analysts by sharing knowledge and skills that make the team more productive
• knowledge of software engineering practices and metrics

• Develop integration test specifications, test plans to validate new/existing product features and releases
• Develop fully automated tests to validate Teradata database and other components/functions and mimic customer like scenarios and workloads
• Develop tests to reproduce and verify customer reported issues and fixes
• Analyze Feature Design specifications and identify test coverage opportunities
• Perform customer-centric validation of the Vantage products at an integration level, to validate product integration, reliability, and resiliency
• Independently analyze & report the defects/issues encountered during testing
• Create test execution reports with deep analysis and high quality
• Participate in Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) analysis to improve product's quality, reliability, availability and sustainability
• Identify & develop automation framework for enhanced testing, as needed
• Explore and identify new testing tools that can be used to improve the quality of the product
• Collaborate with other engineering teams & stakeholders as needed
• Maintain test assets as needed

• Position reports directly to the Engineering Director
• Test methodology is black box customer focused testing on a wide range of machine configurations, on Cloud and on on-prem platforms as needed
