Senior Service Engineer Marine Thrusters Job In Zf Friedrich In Mumbai, India

Job Description :To support Marine service activities in the region, ZF India is looking for a competent and energetic Service Engineer, who can technically support the existing technical service team with Commissioning & Repairs & Maintenance activities for its Marine Transmissions, Thrusters & Control Systems Reporting to the Service Manager Marine, the candidate will be required to be stationed in Mumbai and will have responsibility for the business of technical services with ZF Marine products, spare parts, and technical services within the dedicated area Core duties and responsibilities

• Carrying out Overhauling of ZF Thrusters and Gearboxes at customer locations (Yards / Workshop) as required
• Perform Inspection and troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective action.
  
  
• Submission of technical reports in accordance with ZF guidelines and Standards
• Perform installation, Pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities at customer site locations Must be capable of working unsupervised and leading small teams
• Under the direction of Service Manager, perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of ZF Marine propulsion system and its controls
• Provides training and instruction to customers on system operations.
  
  
• Promote sales of maintenance services
• Perform other related engineering tasks to facilitate proper commissioning and customer satisfaction
• Provide continuous, 24 hours by 7 day a week, support in response to customer calls for service
• Ensure appropriate response and service is provided to customer

Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college
• Minimum 4-5 years of field service and commissioning experience
• In the total experience at least 3 years' experience in Maintenance / Overhauling of Azimuth Thrusters/ Tunnel Thrusters would be preferred.
  
  
• Basic Understanding of Ship's Propulsion controls and its functioning
• Basic Troubleshooting skills in Electrical Systems would be an added advantage
• Basic Understanding and troubleshooting skills on Hydraulic system and its components
• Basic knowledge of ISO (Quality) & OHSAS (Health & Safety) practices in marine industry

• Ability to make decisions with regards to completion of tasks and job methods and follow through with results of outcome
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills essential.
  
  
• Ability to interact and communicate with Clients, Factory's Technical Team and Project Managers for the successful completion of Commissioning/ Maintenance projects
• Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals
• Ability to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
