Pay Scale : Pay matrix Level-6 (Rs 35,400-1,12,400/-)

Age Limit : Applicant should not exceed the maximum age limit of 30 years as on the closing date of receipt of application

Height : 165 Cms (Relaxable by 5 Cms for hill Tribes and Adivasis including Mizos and Nagas)

Chest : 76 - 81 Cms.

(Relaxable by 02 Cms for candidates below 20 years of age)

Weight : Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards

Female

Height : 157 Cms

Chest : Not applicable

Weight : According to height but not less than 46 Kgs

Examination Fee : Applicants need to attach a demand draft/ IPO of Rs 200/- as examination fee in the case of male General/ OBC candidates

Till 1965 India ’s borders with Pakistan were manned by the State Armed Police Battallion. Pakistan attacked Sardar Post, Chhar Bet and Beria Bet on 9 April, 1965 in Kutch . This exposed the inadequacy of the State Armed Police to cope with armed aggression due to which the Government of India felt the need for a specialized centrally controlled Border Security Force, which would be armed and trained to man the International Border with Pakistan.
