The Role ResponsibilitiesJob RoleThe Business Solution Lead would drive transformation would drive strategic deliverables under Finance Operations strategy and Aspire Transformation through effective collaboration between GPO and Innovation, Analytics and Enablement COE This role will drive GPO transformation specifically covering
  • Enhanced reporting and analytics involving tech solutions, systems and tools
  • Data strategy leveraging data science and visualisation tools and techniques to support data standardisation and visualisation
  • Strategic operating model between Group / Regions / Countries and Fin Operations (GPO) by aligning accounting, reporting, analysis and change management responsibilities into / within GPO and making Group / Regions / Countries focus on direct business engagement for, stakeholder management and regulatory governance and business development and strategy
  • Strategic productivity initiatives from transformational solutions.

  • Optimisation of GPO operations by leveraging current and new generation tools such as ServiceNow, Power BI, Dataiku to significantly improve process automation and apply human effort and intelligence for analysis and decision support and directly contribute to Future Ready Workforce (FRW)
  • Towards this, the role will interface extensively with senior Finance management at Fin Operations, GPO, and CFOs to deliver the Target Operating Model and build a sustainable and forward-looking finance organisation The role will also work closely with Aspire Transformation programme, collaborating alongside the GPOs on the future design of processes and related technology and driving the implementation into production

Strategy
  • Drive the strategy and execution of Operational excellence within GPO that is aligned to the overall Fin Operations strategy (5 Pillars) Set GPO strategy for conceptualising and delivering transformational platforms to contribute to information, analysis and decision support needs of Group and Country Finance leadership teams
  • Play an advisory / consultant role, driving optimisation and organisation design, working closely with the GPO leadership team
  • Drive and deliver strategic productivity initiatives leveraging GPO transformation and Aspire transformation
  • Partner with Aspire Transformation to advice on tools and techniques, data and functional processes pertaining to GPO processes
  • Development and delivery of a strategic vision and plan for the redesign of the Global Process Model, covering operating model, process, policies and procedures, controls, systems, and data.

  • Develop the messaging and story boarding of GPO vision across various Finance forums
  • Deliver the service model, service catalogue and tools working closely with the GPO organisation and the Finance Organisation design team
Business
  • Understand the current process state end to end with the aid of various Lean Six Sigma tools and identity various improvement opportunities
  • Develop robust measures and metrics to effectively manage the GPO organisation
  • Drive execution of identified improvement opportunities.

  • Engage with Process Excellence, Productivity and Aspire teams to review toolsets to support organisation design and operations
  • Review process management, workflow management and work-force management tools in the industry and perform evaluations to recommend ideal toolset for Finance
  • Support implementation of tools to contribute to finance organization design, outcomes, and requirements
Processes
  • Defining policies, procedures, and controls for the processes
  • Design the standardised optimised process with exceptions only for legal / tax / regulatory variations (which will be managed locally by CFOs), and managing the process for approving such exceptions.

  • Partner with GPO Leadership team, Country CFO and Aspire to deliver and determine appropriate ways to navigate complex issues and TOM & process transformation agendas specific to Country
  • Developing process framework, defining key metrics eg cycle time, cost, control, and managing performance of the process, benchmarked to external standards, integrate with Bank platforms and architecture and are the foundation of the Finance infrastructure strategy
  • Maintain intellectual curiosity to understand advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, analytics, robotics, and artificial intelligence to influence SCB Finance Function direction.

  • Be a trusted advisor to the GPOs, FinOperations MT and Global Finance partners and be able to support issues, communication, and influence outcomes
People and Talent
  • Lead the drive for up-tiering and up-skilling Finance to develop high performing teams for the future inspire and engage people
  • Business leadership / defining and agreeing solutions to drive effectiveness and efficiency with Finance and Business / Front Office management
  • Support cross-Bank and finance talent development through thoughtful job design, selection of people managers and providing stretch opportunities for individuals to learn in role
  • Employ, engage, and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.

  • Responsibility to review team structure / capacity plans
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives
Risk Management
  • Reinforce an effective and exemplary risk and control culture and further strengthen the control environment, ensure that specialist knowledge and skills are assigned to relevant needs
  • Act to minimize operational loss and audit failures and take proactive measures to respond to matters arising and identify and manage forward looking risks
  • Work with relevant teams to identify and mitigate identified operational risks in their areas.

  • Through assignment of direct and indirect reports, establish and maintain an appropriate framework and procedures for monitoring, identifying, measuring, assessing, reporting, and managing compliance, regulatory, financial crime, operational and reputational risks
Governance
  • Reports directly to Head, Innovation, Analytics and Enablement with matrix reporting to GPO
  • Has membership of all major GFS operating committees and GPO management teams
Regulatory and Business Conduct
