Role Responsibilities Transformation, Technology & Operations (TTO) organisation within SCB spans >40k people and c$4bn USD cost base TTO organization is supported by the TTO CFO organisation under Functions Finance This role is a senior digital enablement lead role in the Global Plan to Perform team of TTO finance This role will act as the delivery champion for all digital initiatives in the TTO finance portfolio.

The role is global in nature and based out of India (Bangalore or Chennai) Job responsibilities
  • Leading and working with a team of skilled digital/visualisation analyst both within TTO finance and the broader GCFO digital ecosystem handling rich data of cost and consumption transactions of the Bank's Transformation, Technology and Operations function
  • Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable and operable solutions that work well within the overall finance data architecture
  • Lead and manage multiple digital initiatives across reporting, cost allocation and executive insights shaping the digital road map for TTO finance
  • Define roadmaps to implement BI solutions supporting the acceleration of cost transparency and simplification strategy of TTO finance
  • Champion the long term digital strategy for TTO finance in partnership with CFO, TTO, GPO, P2P and Global process manager - TTO finance
  • Optimize finance delivery processes through automation and digital with significant uplift in the share of straight through processing
  • Pursue enhanced data capture in fast changing technology landscape of the finance function
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and interact with data teams (Data engineering, infrastructure , data science) to deliver digital solutions which are fit for purpose
  • Lead meetings, presentations, trainings which helps build the digital quotient of the wider TTO finance function
  • Work collaboratively with the Technology business management team of Apptio and P2P digital team for uses cases ranging from recharge allocation to reporting & analytics
Required skill sets and experience
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in reporting automation, data visualisation or data engineering preferably in FP&A domain
  • Conversant with all forms of digital tools
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the design, creation, management, and business use of extremely large datasets
  • Extensive experience in the full data project life cycles around large-scale, high-volume and high-performance data structures for analytics and deep learning
  • Excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions
  • Strong academic record at bachelor or master's degree level in business, economics, finance from a well-recognized institution
  • Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (eg.

    , Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets
  • Advanced knowledge of data cleaning, validation, and related tools
  • Advanced Python scripting and data wrangling development skills
  • Advanced SQL development skills
  • Ability to culturally orient in diverse & international team environment and lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi task, lead through ambiguities, influence where he/she does not have direct authority & build on unstructured formative situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with colleagues from different time zones and cultures

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified finance individual with >10 years' experience of working in finance departments
  • Degree qualified
ROLE SPECIFIC TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Qualified accountant with 10+ years PQE as a minimum Expert
  • Experience of providing finance business partnering to a large organisation and c-suite executives including extensive cost management support Expert
  • Ability to constructively challenge and influence where appropriate to ensure the overall goals of the business and the bank are aligned.

    Expert
  • Strong understanding of technology spends from a commercial perspective and ideally knowledge of applications typical of a global bank Core
  • Understanding of Standard Chartered Bank finance processes and systems desirable Core
  • Strong knowledge and experience of balance sheet management for cost and familiarity with accounting standards Expert
  • Familiarity with project accounting is a must and ideally with SCB investment finance processes Advanced
  • Experience of driving strategic change and process re-engineering.

    Advanced
  • Strong analytical skills in Excel and PowerPoint Expert
  • Knowledge of methodologies such as Agile Core
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation with extended finance support offshore Core
