Job Description:

Within the role, the Planning Engineer will manage and co-ordinate the planning / scheduling activities in conjunction with the local engineering and operational teams to improve all maintenance productivity and quality through efficient planning and scheduling, coordination of spares and labour resources

This is a key role within the Energy Generation Department in meeting and achieving its annual plan in respect to Statutory Outages under PSSR and COMAH and to ensure the weekly planning and scheduling activities are implemented and supported to the agreed standard under the Maintenance Excellence Code of Practice and Guidelines

Within the role, you will be responsible for the processing and managing of work orders as directed and controlled by the Planning Process and the Quality Management System You will be responsible for improving the efficiency and capability of the assets and must liaise with the Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager and Area Engineering Managers, regarding the coordination of activities and the Operations Teams regarding the flow of work through the Generation Department

The Planning Engineer will be key in ensuring the Energy Department works in partnership with its upstream and downstream partners and that the assets are managed to provide maximum efficiency

Job Requirement:

The Planning Engineer should hold a minimum ONC or HND qualification, preferably acquired through a recognized craft apprenticeship or modern apprenticeship program.

We are particularly interested in individuals who can showcase a proven track record in planning and scheduling within the realm of Mechanical Engineering

It is essential that the Planning Engineer holds the following;

Good or excellent understanding of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems
Good or excellent understanding of Maintenance Execution (MEx) processes related to (CAMF)
Extensive relevant knowledge of SHE / Process Safety / Tata Steel UK Permit to work rules
Working knowledge of Work-Load Management and Scheduling Techniques
Able to create/remove Maintenance Plans
