The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills:Primary Skills:

1. Experience in embedded C programming on microcontroller including coding of interfaces to external memory, and digital interfaces to other peripherals (SPI/I2C/SCI/CAN/UART)
2. Firmware development experience using on Microchip PIC Microcontrollers using MPLab IDEs is a plus
3. Experience with DSP and/or FPGA based SoCs is a plus
4. Able to write firmware for new and existing instrumentation, mostly on PIC devices
5. Collaborate with Electronic Engineering in the concept and design phases for new control circuitry
6. Manage software development projects.
   
   
7. Experience in common debugging tools to troubleshoot embedded code and implement corrections
8. Must have demonstrated skill in developing original designs with C/C++ in embedded environments including bare-metal, multi-threaded RTOS, and embedded operating systems
9. Must have specific experience with common microcontroller and/or embedded processing platforms such as ARM and PIC
10. Must have a strong understanding of embedded software design and architectural concepts as well as the integration between firmware and hardware
11. Must have demonstrated skill in independently using electronics lab equipment to develop/troubleshoot low-level drivers and hardware integration for interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, etc.
    
    
12. Must have an understanding of higher-level languages, object-oriented methodologies, user-interface implementation, and PC application programming
13. Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision and follow established design procedures during the development cycle, documenting the design per customer standards
14. Must possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to work between multiple departments in carrying out this position's duties

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 5 years of embedded firmware development or equivalent experience
2. Demonstrated technical problem-solving aptitude
3. Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal
4. Strong Customer Service orientation, to work with Design Engineering Customers
5. Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work
6. Must be able to demonstrate an ability to continually learn new technologies and processes
