Q1. Which one is better, being a bank manager or having a state government PSC job?
Ans: There is no comparison between Bank Manager and State Government PSC jobs. Bank Manager's responsibilities and area is limited to the bank in which he is working. He has limited limited responsibilities as well as there is no field work involved. While a PSC job provides you a open area of learning, huge responsibilities and great experience of field work. You will be coordinating with many people (Direct public intervention). Working as an PSC, you will feel the power as well as responsibility. In PSC there are huge range of departments for which you will be working. Best Part is after doing good service for 8-10 years, you may be promoted as IAS (Not necessarily, but chances are there).
Q2. Which are 6 month or 1-year courses after 12th to easily get Kerala PSC jobs?
Ans: Kerala PSC Course (Kerala Public Service Commission) is an exclusive course created for Kerala State Govt exams. Students enrolling in this course should read the official recruitment notification carefully to know their eligibility. Our Kerala PSC Research Department created the best book materials for all Kerala PSC Degree level Exams including LDC, Secretariat Assistant & University Assistant Recruitments etc. RACE Institute is one of the best PSC training providers in Kerala. Being the beginner in the category of conducting PSC Exams, RACE became one of the best among the top institutes in Kerala in a very short span of time. RACE Institute is currently running Best PSC coaching in Trivandrum, Calicut, Thrissur and Cochin locations.
Q3.What are the different jobs in PSC?
Ans: Which all jobs can get by a degree holder through public service commission(PSC) in Kerala? Assistant in universities , Assistant in various boards ( kseb, Ksfe etc), Assistant in secretariat, Municipal secretary , Panchayat secretary, Divisional officer. Sub inspector (police), Inspector (excise) .
Q4. Which is more prestigious: state PSC jobs or SSC CGL?
Ans: State PSC and SSC CGL both have same reputation in terms of acceptance in society.
Q5. What are some high-paying Kerala PSC jobs for degree holders (also in the long run)?
Ans: Kerala PSC now conducts KAS ,Kerala Administrative Service Exam which is the best for any degree holder .It is similar to IAS. The next post for which maximum people appear is LDC -Lower Division Clerk .It is highly competitive .Though LDC is lowest level post,in the long run through Departmental Tests and promotions one can reach high level posts before one retires .
Q6. Can't an honest person survive in government jobs, especially PSC jobs? Will they have to deal with stress each day because of this?
Ans: Yes an honest person can survive in a government job provided he is sincere and does his job. At the most he can be transferred to an unimportant job with little corruption. So he shall not have any stress. People often think that it is difficult to survive in the government being honest. The point is, most corrupt officers are efficient. They know rules and regulations properly and are able to do the job entrusted to them. On the other hand most honest people are inefficient. They suffer not because of honesty but due to inefficiency. What is most important is that government work has to be done. A person who is efficient but corrupt will be preferred as he is able to get the work done.
In fact the picture is two dimensional
Honest-Dishonest
Efficient-inefficient.
A person who is (Honest, efficient) will have no problem. But most are (Dishonest, efficient) or (Honest, Inefficient) hence the impression that honest persons suffer and dishonest are successful.
Q7. How do I increase speed and accuracy in solving quantitative aptitude and reasoning questions for various SSC/banking/PSC jobs exams with shortcut tricks and tips?
Ans: Lets see how we solve a problem , step by step , then we will discuss how to increase our speed.
1. Understanding the question : When you read a statement ,there is a some data given, some conditions are given and one variable is asked. Now, as you read your question , make sure you are noting down the things worth noting in a proper manner so we don’t have to read long statements again and again. As soon as you read 83 1/3 % , you should note down girls : boys is 5:1. Thats what you learnt in percentage. Then you read second line , 2 percentages are given and one is asked. This question is best done with alligation, there are other approach but I find alligation best , so this decision of choosing your approach quickly and appropriately is important factor in gaining speed.
2. Calculation : Now that I have understood the question and noted down given info in the manner my approach needs , only calculation is left. You need to be fast here too. So we can all agree that gaining speed is more than just writing fast, there are many steps
* Understanding the problem : If you are weak here, you will read statement again and again and that eats up all the time
noting down given variables/ make diagram : This skill comes in handy when we face a question with lengthy statements. Since no one wants to read such questions twice, note down the info as you read the statement in a proper manner.
* Choose right approach : This one is most important. A right approach can reduce your questions solving time by half. Aspirants who have learnt new methods/short tricks must have realised how lengthy conventional method can be sometimes.
* Calculation speed : As fast as possible , don’t compromise accuracy for speed, a question calculated wrong is even worse than a question left unattempted.
in a problem solving process and each one requires a different skill. Make sure you develop all of those since we are spending so much time on ssc preparation.
For accuracy, you need to avoid silly mistakes. These links will give you some insight on short tricks and how to avoid silly mistakes.
Q8. Is it possible to get a state government PSC job at the age of 32?
Ans: Unless ur general category or forward caste u can appear up to age of 37 , or up to age 50 in lower lvl jobs . But u better start early to crack it early.
Q9. My maths and English basics are very poor. Shall I prepare for state PSC job or can I get ready for CGL & PO jobs in 1 year or less?
Ans: As far as CGL and Banking jobs are concerned, huge weightage is given to the Quantitative ability and English portion. If you are from science background, it would be a little bit easier for you. Otherwise it's going to put a lot more difficulty. However, it's not going to be a cakewalk in either of the cases. As you feel, your Maths and English is poor, it's better not to go for SSC CGL or banking exams. On the other hand, try to study GS for a week. Get an overview on that. Introspect your interests. If you feel connected, go for state PSC. Though, it may take a longer duration that you have cited above to clear the exam.
Q10. What should I do if I can't see my SC certificate's details online? Will it make any problem during my documents verification for any state PSC job?
Ans: Well brother if it is genuine certificate then nobody can cause you probelm as in case of SC certificate, there is no renewal requirement. Once you have it from authority its for lifetime in India. So whether its detail's are available online or not will not affect its validity or originality.
