The Group Head of Insurance Transformation COE is responsible for developing a center of excellence where various Group Transformation practices can be provided to insurance businesses timely and cost efficiently Candidate is expected to lead a large team of insurance subject matter experts, possessing key Transformation skills - ie business analysis, project, programme management and testing The COE will be built globally leveraging on the presence of our existing Global Service Center, to achieve cost efficiencies on existing offshore infrastructure
  • The job holder supports the global business which has an on-going demand on Transformation skill set for a roughly $60 to $80 million (US) of IT change budget.

    Services to be provided by the team include but not limited to the following:
  • PMO, programme and project management
  • Business analysts and architecture
  • Business testing and QA
  • The job holder will deliver services that operate within the WPB change framework, including delivering changes in an agile manner
  • The job holder needs to ensure financial reports are produced for the managed centers, using the bank's financial and budgeting tools, applying the high standards in terms of cost control The job holder will operate within the HSBC risk and control framework, with key emphasis on non-financial risks
Principal Responsibilities
  • Develop the Insurance Transformation COE strategy, taking various factors into the considerations and make executive level proposals that describe the where, what and how to execute the strategy aligning with clear goals of Group Insurance businesses
  • Develop the COE with strong practice and standards aligning closely to the WPB Transformation operating framework
  • Deliver exceptional internal business services to our market teams, by driving excellence in the Transformation practices, including business analysis, project, programme management and testing
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate view of resourcing supply and demand of different skills across the multiple locations
  • Continue to look to drive operational efficiency within teams and look for innovative ways to reduce on-going running costs
  • The job holder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures
  • The jobholder will implement measures to contain compliance risk across the business area.

    This will be achieved by liaising with Compliance department about business initiatives at the earliest opportunity Also, and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators
Leadership & Teamwork
  • Develop a strong pipeline of talents, with good understanding of market demands and geographically expand to support a hub-and-spoke model where resources can be skilled both upward and outward to cover changing market needs
  • Develop strong relationships with local recruitment and service partners (both internal and external), achieving a highly scalable and economically sound operating model
  • Collaborate effectively with the Global Insurance operations and technology teams to provide augmentations when necessary
Team Size: 10 IC & 5 People ManagersRequirements Requirements
  • Good understanding of the internal change framework, non-financial risk and the value stream operating model Knowledge with Insurance domain is a plus
  • Proven experience developing a center of excellence from the ground up that rapidly grows to a medium or large-scale operation
  • Experience building and managing teams in multiple offshore locations
  • Strong coaching and people management skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment, where competing priorities are expected as new opportunities arise
  • Experience as a practitioner in one of the Transformation practice and demonstrating success in the field
  • Familiar with JIRA, Confluence, and various tools where requirements and delivery milestones are captured
  • Experience operating in an agile construct, familiar with concepts like Value Stream and OKR
