The Opportunity:Business Consulting job family is structured to address end-to-end business needs Members of this Job Family are differentiated by their capability of providing the required consultation & work with end-business by way of assessing the requirements, identifying the right analytical solution that can solve for the business problem, and developing the same for execution - often covering areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, enhancing internal business processes etc, They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach as needed, and retain the flexibility to change track to adopt other solutions based on changed scenarios, in order to deliver on effective results This talent group can be tapped into for providing solutions for varying areas including improving existing processes, technology and approaches by embedding exploratory & analytics & taking it forward with a consulting mind set.

Function Role: The Sustainability Reporting Manager will support CS function through delivery of appropriate, accurate and reliable reporting, especially in relation to HSBC's Sustainable Operations programmes In particular:
  • Support the Global Corporate Sustainability function in planning, managing, tracking and reporting sustainability initiatives
  • Working with regional and country teams to define, support and deliver relevant reporting requirements
  • Supplying accurate information for use in HSBC's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures, including the Holdings Annual Report and Accounts, HSBCcom, ESG Updates, and ratings such as CDP
  • Preparing for and meeting all requirements of external assurance assessments for figures that we publish
  • Support other stakeholders where appropriate, eg supporting Communications to raise awareness of our programmes through internal and external channels
  • Continually improve the quality and scope of the coverage of our reporting systems and processes, especially in preparation for the next phase of our programme to reduce our environmental impacts
  • Tracking and reporting our progress towards sourcing 100% of our electricity from renewable sources
  • Tracking and reporting other aspects of our footprint, such as paper, energy use and waste
  • Manage/utilise our Enablon system, coordinating around 350 users to report impacts of sites across HSBC globally
  • Support implementation of other operational policies set out in the Corporate Sustainability Manual
  • They will also oversee their team's delivery of activities to support HSBC's charitable partnerships, including screening and reporting, mainly with regard to standardisation, automation and quality-checking
What you'll do:Accountability
  • Design, development and delivery of professional, effective and responsive reporting and MI, which can provide insight to all levels of management, and help to drive informed decisions
  • Plan & execute assigned projects and analysis on time and with high levels of accuracy and quality
  • Tailor or transform information where appropriate, eg dashboards for senior management
  • Data standardisation, report production, processes, trend analysis
  • Streamlining and automation of reporting in an effort to bring efficiencies across all reporting lines, with the help of the technical teams as may be required
  • Keep self and team updated of changes on an ongoing basis, and support Non-BAU projects / ad-hoc analysis as relevant, ensuring key takeaways are clearly articulated
  • Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for creation, maintenance, and alteration of reports and MI
  • Thorough quality check of deliverables, including in line with QC procedures outlined by the department
  • Drive migration and other projects independently, manage the day-to-day BAU service delivery per agreed expectations around SLA's and KPI's, groom and manage the careers of the team members involved
  • Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including but not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy
  • Independently communicate with senior business partners of the likes of CRO's, COO's and other senior executives.

    The incumbent would be required to support specific group entity or any business geography
  • The role holder shall also be expected to guide and lead team members from a functional perspective and help them build up a strong business understanding

  • Combination of analytical and management activities, using a combination of skills to resolve challenges
  • Ensuring a pro-active and collaborative approach, building effective relationships across multiple teams and countries, and maintaining stakeholder relationships with the UK and overseas
  • Ability to take ownership and exercise judgement when required, as a key contact point for HSBC's sustainability reporting
  • Dealing with new data and MI requirements where reporting requirements may be unclear, while always ensuring accuracy and reliability
Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance
  • The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology
  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators
Requirements What you will need to succeed in the roleSkills required
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data
  • Good Knowledge in SAS and SQL
  • Master's degree from reputed university in statistics, economics or any other quantitative fields
  • Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Analytical and statistical concepts
  • Effective project management, time management and prioritisation skills, with an ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver against strict deadlines
  • Proficiency required in MS Office Suite, MS PowerPoint & Excel
  • Practical knowledge of programming and data tools will be advantageous eg VBA/SQL/Python and Qliksense/Qlikview/Tableau
  • Ability to mentor team members and guide them effectively
  • Proven organisational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal & written communication skills, ideally with previous exposure to diverse/multi-culture work environments & geographies
  • Strong presentation skills, and ability to interact confidently with senior management and communicate and synthesise information in a simple form
Eligibility:
  • All applicants must have successfully completed their probation period
  • Employees must meet performance and behavioural standards as defined in the policy
  • Applicant should not be on a corrective action plan/ disciplinary action in the last 6 months or any other performance action as on the date of application.

  • All existing L63 and Above applicants should have served at least 12 months and should have successfully completed respective learning curve tenure and all L6 should have completed 18 months in their current role
