About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Database EngineerIn this role, you will:

• Lead complex or critical database management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and business groups, including database architecture, design, integration and data modeling
• Provide the highest technical expertise for the planning, research, design implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
• Review and analyze complex database technologies that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
• Design and certify next generation database technologies
• Assist in database installations, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Recommend improvements to web application processing issues and design
• Consult with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long range internal and enterprise level database architecture and management strategies
• Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications, US:

• 5+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Required Qualifications, International:

• Experience in Database Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• 7+ years of database design and administration experience
• 5+ years of DB2 experience.

• Experience with architecture, design and implementations
• Experience implementing Kerberos and/or LDAP authorization and authentication
• Experience supporting distributed databases scaled across data centers

• Ensure integrity, availability and performance of DB2 database systems by providing technical support and maintenance
• Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
  
  
• Assist in capacity planning, space management and data maintenance activities for database system
• Support OLTP and OLAP ( DPF ) environments
• Perform database enhancement and modification as per the requirements
• Perform database recovery and backup tasks on daily and weekly basis
• Install and maintain db2 fixpack patches for database environments and version migrations.
  
  
• Identify and recommend database techniques to support business needs
• Assist in implementation of new features and program fixes in databases
• Maintain database security and disaster recovery procedures
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of multiple databases
• Resolve any database issues in accurate and timely fashion as per SLA.
  
  
• Monitor databases regularly to check for any errors such as existing locks and failed updates
• Oversee utilization of data and log files
• Manage database compliances and remediate
• Manage db2HADR and cluster services like VCS, TSA
• Perform encryption procedures for databases both transit and data at rest.
  
  
• Ability to write scripts to automate process and enhancements
• Patching MongoDB instances to latest level
• Build and managing large shard clusters with replication sets
• Trouble shooting /performance tuning
• Database backups, restore and point-in-time recovery.
  
  
• Ops Manager installations, configurations, monitoring and patching
• Recovery from Ops Manager and analyzing performance metrics
• Knowledge on SAN and File system level backups
• Ensure that the databases achieve maximum performance and availability
• Design indexing strategies, Create roles and users and set their permissions.
  
  
• Experience in LDAP and Kerberos and x509 certificates authentications and authorization
• On-Call technical support to minimize the impact of system disruptions
• Flexible in availability and good coordination with onsite team
