Requirement A z/OS systems programmer with 5 years' experience, ideally in a large and complex mainframe environment to work in a small team of systems programmers Key Responsibilities To install, upgrade, maintain and customize the z/OS operating system covering z/OS, RACF, JES2, VTAM, TCP/IP, HCD, WLM, Sysplex and other z/OS related IBM and OEM products and features Candidates must have the essential skills required to perform these activities such as SMP/E, REXX and assembler They must be able to work independently and to be able to lead and manage associated project work To build new environments as required by the business.

To proactively monitor z/OS and related software and to take action to prevent potential issues and to maximize performance To improve such monitoring and increase automation where possible To maintain robustness of the configuration and to maintain and test the mainframe DR solution To assist users with the analysis of issues with system processes To deal with day to day support issues related to z/OS and associated software.

To thoroughly document the environment and all activities performed To work closely with the client, operations and other technicians to create robust plans and processes in line with business requirements To produce technical recommendations and service and stability improvements in line with business requirements To gather information and produce reports to satisfy client and vendor requirements such as SCRT reporting To assist the storage team.
