Job Description Plant Manager-Steel Plant based in Ghana (Job Location Ghana)We are looking for an experienced Plant / Operations Manager who will be responsible for overall plant operations which includes safety, production, warehouse, quality & maintenance He will organize and oversee the design and manufacture of our wide range of steel products You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of production and the quality of output to schedule and budget We expect you to have an in-depth knowledge of efficient production processes The ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance will set you apart as a leader.

Decision-making and problem-solving will take up a great part of your day The goal is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements QUALIFICATIONS: To succeed in this role, you should have Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering Proven experience working in steel plant operations required Minimum 20 years of experience working in SMS, Hot rolling, Cold Rolling, downstream operations and manufacturing in a steel production facility is required Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, other department managers and senior management.

Have a wide experience in Hot Rolling of wide range of long products of different s/grades of steel including TMT bars Excellent leadership skills to positively motivate employees to keep production running efficiently meeting defined operational metrics Problem-solving skill set to be able to proactively and quickly evaluate the situation and making timely corrective actions Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations Experience in reporting on key production metrics Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology is a must.

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills Able to sit, stand and walk around for long periods at a time ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements Monitor and drive production to achieve deadlines and continuously improve, resolving issues that arise Direct and coordinate daily operations of the manufacturing plant Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance, organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines Evaluate and provide timely corrective measures in the plant to maximize operating efficiencies.

Work with Maintenance and others to schedule planned maintenance work, specify and purchase equipment etc Maintain optimum operations through effective hiring, training & retention of employees Monitor raw material & finished goods inventories to insure on-time deliveries meet goal and inventory accuracies are intact Ensure company policies and procedures are always followed Screen, interview and manage the onboarding process of new hires Provide training and educational materials to staff as necessary Monitor equipment and ensure that they are in good working order Repair or replace plant equipment as needed Continually evaluate new technological advancements that can improve safety, quality, and financial metrics within the operation.

Evaluate monthly financials and enact changes necessary to increase profitability & efficiencies Maintain a Quality system ensures high quality products are produced with a goal of zero quality defects Responsible for machine shop production planning and machining of various bulk material handling equipment Enforce and develop health and safety and environmental systems, supported by the H&S manager, to meet relevant standards
