Admission for PhD Programme in English and History at University of Gour Banga in Malda

Eligibility : Any Candidate who possesses required Masters Degree in the concerned subject or in allied subjects may apply for admission to the Ph D Programme.

Master Degree in concerned subjects of the University of Gour Banga or of any other University whose degree has been recognized by the University Grants Commission are eligible to apply for the PhD programme in the subject in which she / he has obtained the Master’s Degree or in an allied subjects (to be determined by the Departmental Board of Research Studies) Foreign students will be required to produce clearance from the Government of India and / or other appropriate authorities Admission into the Ph.

D programme may be granted only to such foreign nationals who have obtained a research visa The candidates who have been awarded research fellowship by UGC or any other Govt recognized funding agency shall apply in prescribed form for admission to PhD.

Application Fee : The filled-in downloaded application must be accompanied by Crossed Bank Draft of Rs.

500/- (Rs300/- for SC/ST/BC/PWD) payable in favour of “University of Gour Banga” at UBI, UGB Branch, Malda

Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected for admission to Course Work Programme through written test and Personal Interview

Completed application along with two copies of the recent passport
size photograph (identical with the same pasted in the form) and other
documents regarding citizenship (by registration), age, qualification,
and experience etc. duly attested by the appropriate authority must be
sent to the Office of the Registrar at the time of submitting the
application form. Last date of issue and submission of form: February
27, 2015 (upto 03:00 pm).

The University of Gour Banga has been established by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly vide West Bengal Act XXVI of 2007.The Appointed Date as per Kolkata Gazettee dated 14th March, 2007 is March 10, 2008.
