ICM is a "not for profit" Society established by the Government of India as a think tank on all matters
relating to International Migration

ICM is inviting applications for engaging one Research Assistant on contract basis for an initial period
of two years with extension yearly upto a maximum of two years subject to satisfactory performance of
the individual
(i) Nationality: The applicant must be citizen of India
(ii) Educational Qualification: The applicant must hold a Master's degree from any of the Universities
incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions
established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University, or possess an equivalent
qualification Applicants with higher educational qualifications and/or experience in the field of
international migration and diasporas will be preferred.


(iii) Age limit: The applicant must not have attained the age of 40 years as on August 1, 2019
(iv) Work Experience: The applicant must have a minimum experience of 1 year in the field of
International Migration or related matters
Remuneration: Rs 45,000/- Per month (all inclusive, TDS to be deducted)

In a rapidly globalizing world characterized by mobility of people across borders, there is a need to bring a strategic dimension to the process of emigration of Indians in search of employment. Therefore, The Ministry set up India Centre for Migration (ICM- formerly known as Indian Council of Overseas Employment) as a ‘not for profit’ society under the Societies Registration Act 1860, in July, 2008. The Centre serves as a research think-tank to the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, on all matters relating to ‘International Migration’. The Centre undertakes empirical, analytical and policy related research, and undertakes pilot projects to document good practices.

ICM undertakes research and studies on migration of Indian workers for overseas employment and supports informed policy making in MEA. ICM also partners with individuals, institutions and governments to drive empirical, analytical and policy related research enhance capacities and pilot good practices in international migration and its governance.
