Job Title : Solution Architect Mission Statement Position Purpose: Become the expert understanding the operations of a portfolio of customers, maintaining deep knowledge of the available Nagra and Market technologies in order to propose solution architecture, build and communicate a vision on possible evolutions of these customers and their architectures Reports to: Director of Solution ArchitectureSupervises: None - individual contributor role Location: India Bangalore / NoidaOther name in the industry: Technical Pre-Sales, Solution architect, Solution Engineer, Solution expertLevel: 5Role & Responsibilities : Accountable for the consistency of the technical solutions offered to customers Build and nurture a trusted relationship with customers Become the recognized technical interlocutor both for customers and inside Nagra Position purpose :
  • Understand and elicit customer needs / requirements / business problems to solve
  • Build and propose solution architecture delivering the highest value for customers and Nagra
  • Get agreement on product customizations with PLM whenever required
  • Author technical proposal answering RFx
  • Deliver Functional & Security Requirements(FSR) and Solution Architecture documents (SAD)
  • Review and contribute to new products proposed by PLM
  • Provide support to services organization during the deployment of solutions
  • Understanding of broadcast, OTT, content security technologies is mandatory
  • Understanding of IOT, cybersecurity is a plus
  • Understanding of cloud solutions and architecture is a plus
Main interfaces with other entities :
  • Account Manager
  • Supports sales in eliciting customer requirements and articulate Nagra offer business value
  • Follow sales process for bid management
  • Provide Functional and Security Requirements and Solution Architecture documents
  • Share knowledge and expertise with sales teams
  • Bid Office Sales Support
  • Follow the processes in place (incl pre-sales process, scoping process with PLM/Product Architect/R&D)
  • Provide relevant documents as described in the processes, for Functional & Security Requirements (FSR), and Solution Architecture documents(SAD)
Product Management :
  • Get and understand product roadmap and features, flag relevancy for own customers
  • Report and advocate new market/partners/customers' requirements to PLM generate scoping request completing FSR and SAD
  • Get approval for custom development and timeline
  • Make proposals for product improvements
  • Communicate information about competition
Security, product and solution Architects :
  • Exchange information on new solution architectures and new technologies
  • Review Nagra's position (value proposition to customer, business model)
  • Get support and guidance from Product architect to plan best use of available design
R&D :
  • Answer questions from R&D on FSR / R&D, customer requirements
  • Involve in product debug and crisis to support product error investigations
Services Program Manager and System Engineers
  • Hand over the solution to the deployment team through Architecture kick off meeting
  • During deployment, provide support to define approach of critical integration phases and participate to follow up meetings
  • Provide expertise in the analysis of key technical issues
  • Share product evolution and evangelize on new technology embed in Nagra Product
Partners :
  • Present our solution portfolio to partners
  • Build E2E architecture with Partners to meet Complex customer requirement
  • Identify use cases with partner product requiring integration to enable consistent E2E workflow
  • influence on using our API 'as-is' to minimize per partner customization
Standards :
  • Obtain updates on standard areas that are critical to Nagra
  • Provide feedback on possible evolution of international and local standards
  • Provide feedback on constraints created by international and local standards
  • Provide feedback on local regulation and its constraint
Patents & innovation :
  • Generate ideas and apply for patents & innovation
  • Provide feedback on existing patents that require specific attention

  • Ratio of standard solutions offers to customers
  • Number of won proposals (vs proposals lost/no answer/pending)
  • Number of new acquired customers (or: % of revenues from new products)

  • Leverage Nagra products and already deployed solutions to propose smart solutions fitting with customer requirements
  • Identify, review and communicate needs for customization/adaptation
  • Collaborate with security and product architects in integrating security guidelines
  • Discuss alternative solution architectures with security and product architects
  • Deliver Functional & Security Requirements (FSR) and Solution Architecture Documents (SAD)
  • Use document templates provided by security and product architecture team
  • Avoid (Minimize worst case) customization of standard product
  • Build consensus and get approvals from Product architects
  • Expose solutions to sales, service, pre-sales team allocated to the customer
