The team is responsible for maintaining, developing and deploying Shell’s proprietary seismic imaging software
Key responsibilities:
Expected to take ownership in at least one technical aspect in team projects
Contributes code to the proprietary seismic imaging software
Keeps up-to-date his skills and has full awareness of upcoming computer architectures, languages and optimization techniques
Collaborates with the larger team and diverse technology groups in Shell to remove blockers to the delivery and deployment of the proprietary seismic software.
Dimensions:
Individual contributor reporting to Principal Computational Science Lead
Pro-active, thoughtful contributor, able to work independently and in natural teams with multiple geographically distributed stakeholder groups
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Engineering/Science from a leading university, Master’s/PhD degree is a plus
3 years to 8 years of post-qualification industrial or academic research experience
Strong programming skills C/C++/Fortran and deep understanding of data structures and algorithms
Demonstrated expertise in GPU programming languages (one or more): CUDA, OpenCL, OpenACC, OpenMP.
Experience with performance optimization of scientific applications
Knowledge of modern HPC systems, CPU/GPU architectures and execution models
