I have attended Grapecity Test in Feb 2010.

The Pattern was as follows:

1. Written Test
C/C++ (20 questions)
DBMS (15 questions)
OOPS (15 questions)
Aptitude (40 questions)

2. HR Round

3. Core Technical Round.

4. Technical + HR Round.

5. Final HR Round.

1. The first round is an aptitude paper 30 questions in 30 minutes: The paper is one of its kind that i have ever seen. It consists of everything. The questions are divided into 4 classes namely A, B, C and D.

The D level questions are the simplest and will fetch u only one mark while the A level questions are very lengthy and conceptual, however will fetch u the maximum number of marks i.e four. The D level questions are very very simple, as simple as look and answer.
For example: 4 pictures are given and looking at them u have to answer which once is different from the rest of the 3. Another simple question of this type is the one in which there is a pool of figures such as pentagon, hexagon, rectangle and square and below this pool value of each figure is written. U have to calculate the value of the pool by counting the no of figures and replacing them with there values.

The C level questions are from R.S Agg, simple questions based on percentage, profit lose, time and work and number problems basically there to check ur ability to deal with quantitative problems. I suggest u to go through the solved examples of R.S Agg and practice some questions based on the same.

The A and B level questions are based on Logical Reasoning where the Level B questions are simpler than the level A questions. I could hardly solve any A level question. You need to solve atleast 15 questions to seek ur chances of getting to the next round.

2. The second round is an HR interview: Its a general HR interview in which u could be asked simple HR questions based on ur resume, some situational based questions like design a mobile phone for deaf and dumb, some basic technical questions. You cannot get eliminated from this round unless u can,t speak english.

3. Third round is another HR/ Basic Technical Round: You would be
interview by a Japanese HR, they would judge ur basic technical skills, discuss ur projects. I felt if this round was just to make sure that ur profile matches the profile that u have been called for.

4. Fourth Round/ Core Technical round: This was a core technical round
which revolved around all the technical stuff that u could possibly dream of. U could be asked to design a module and then implement it on the computer. Mind u they not only check ur basics but penetrate to the insights of the topics aswell. They may also ask u puzzles to check how logically strong u are.

5. Fifth Round/ Technical + HR: The last round here is the technical cum HR round. Here in the HR was an old japanese person who finally asks u any thing and everything of technical and HR, they won,t be satisfied if u can make the program but they would be satisfied if u can make an optimized program. U don,t have to be the master of the trade but one with very very good logical skills. They want you to do things quick and smart and that too in a compact manner. A simple program of ( if else ) in C can also be written through ( ? : ), use the latter option because it makes the size of the program small and thats what they love.

I hope this Paper  is useful for you,
I have given this test on 25th nov,06 for the testing positon as fresher. As i already have the offer from TCS for

development position so i am hardly intrested in this cmpany but still i gave it a try...

I had aptitude round first that was for 30mins 30ques the questions were same as specefied in other papers like...

Fill the missing no. that gives the sum of rows equal to as displayed in the respective rows n colomns
nd replacing letters with the numbers nd no two letters can be assigned the same no.
These are 5 ques... all of them are very time consuming nd i attempted all of them

and one ques was of time n wrk that a can do a piece of wrk in this much amnt of time like that.. it was easy but time

consuming as the figures were very large like 11 23/39....

Then one ques  based on figures , sme figures were given with values u have to compute the final result  it was pretty easy

but as usual quite time consuming

Then sme ques  were very easy like find the no. lower then 129 nd the nos. were given llike 234 618 517,etc... this was

pretty easy

THERE WAS NO NEGATIVE MARKING.
AND VERY FEW QUESTIONS HAD OPTIONS WITH THEM SO U HAVE TO SOLVE BY URSELF NO HIT

N TRIAL METHOD.

Ok after that i had HR round then i had one nmore HR round where i was asked 2 puzzles

1) I was given 2 words MAD-DO=DID and 1,0,4,3,8 are the values u have to assign to these so taht the answer comes

out to be DID

The answer is M=4,I=8,D=3,O=0,A=1.

2) There is a 25ltr. vessel nd two vessel one of 5ltr and another one of 7ltr, there is an ocean frm where u have to fill the

water in 25ltr vessel upto 8ltr  w/o spilling it on floor nd the cond is that both the vessels(5 nd 7ltr) can be filled upto the

full capacity at a time u can,t fill it half ...Althpugh the water can be exchanged b/w two vessels given(i.e. 5 n 7 ltr one)

Ans. The solution is Fill the 5ltr one nd pour it in 7lt flask nw the 7 ltr one is empty with 2 ltrs. nw again fill the 5ltr one nd

pour the water in 7 ltr one again nw the 3 ltr in left in 5 ltr as 7 ltr is full after taking 2 ltr of water...
Now pour the 3 ltr left water frm 5 ltr veseel to 25 ltr nd after again filling it fully ( i.e. 5 ltr frm ocean) pour it in 25 ltr

vessel...ITS FILLED WITH 8 ltr of water...

I AM FROM CITM, FARIDABAD . I WANTED TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE OF GRAPECITY WITH YOU .

 

WE WERE CALLED AT 10 am . THERE WERE 8-10 STUDENTS. FIRST WE HAD A WRITTEN TEST FOR 30 min, THERE WERE 30 QUES. THEY WERE EASY BUT SPEED MATTERS, THEY WERE LIKE NUMERICAL PUZZLES IN WHICH WE HAVE TO ADD 2 WORDS AND ASSIGN THEM NOS, THERE WERE ALSO FIGURE QUES ie SELECT THE ODD ONE OUT, IT WAS ALSO EASY.

I WAS ABLE TO ATTEMPT 15 QUES , SOME HAD OPTIONS, SOME DID NOT.OVERALL PAPER WAS EASY.

 

THEN WE WERE ASKED TO WAIT AND AFTER 1 HR THEY CALLED ME FOR THE INTERVIEW, IT WAS HR.  

A LADY BETWEEN 23-25 TOOK MY INTERVIEW. IT LASTED FOR 25-30 MINS

SHE ASKED ME:

2. U R FROM FARIDABAD , WE DON’T PROVIDE CAB . HOW WIL U MANAGE?
