GODREJ PAPER ON 19th DECEMBER

Hi Friends,

The questions and answers of some questions which r given below are 100% perfect.
There r 10 questions and time is 1 hrs.
The cut off is 6 or 7.

Rules:
==>When u stored result in particular box then previous value is lost.
==>m+n=r or m*n=r  i.e m,n,or r are any boxes that is addition and multiplication of any two boxes stored in any 3 boxes.
==>m-n=m  or m/n=m.
==>when u divide then remember only quotient and forget remainder.
==>3-1=2 means

Box3-Box1=Box2

result stored in box2

==> 9,17,42    get 50 in box-2 and 25 in box-3
use only add and subtract in 3 steps
9     17    42
-33    17    42      1-3=1
-33    17    25      3-2=3
-33    50    25      2-1=2

==> 58,13,59   get 32 in box-1 and 85 in box-3
add and subtract in 3 steps
Answres:
58   13   59
58   26   59   2+2=2
32   26   59   3+2=3
32   26   85   1-2=1

==>3,17,43 get 40 in box-1
use multiply or divide in 3 steps
3   17   43
3    5   43    2/1=2
3    5    8     3/2=3
40   5    8    2*3=2
==> C, A, A or C  get C-A in box-1 and A-c in box-3
use subtract only.
Answres:
C       A    A/c
C-A   A    A/C     1-2=1
C-A   A     0         3-3=3
C-A   A    A-C     3-1=3

==>A, C, A or C   get C-A in box-1 and A-c in box-3
use subtract only.

A        C       A/c
A      C-A     A/C        2-1=2
A      C-A      0           3-3=3
C-A   C-A      0           2+3=1
C-A   C-A     A-C       3-2=3
==>One example on Glass G=P+L
P is the total no. of glass packets, L is the spare glasses.
if u sold seperate glasses then cost prize is Rs.6/- and if u sold glasses in dozens then u get Rs.2/- suit per glass.
u have to put total price in 3 rd box and discount in 2nd box with all operations.
they given that G in Box-1 & 6 in Box-2 and 2 in Box-3

Box-1      Box-2     Box-3

G           6         2
G           6         6G          3=1*2
G          12        6G          2=2+2
P           12        6G          1=1/2
P           24        6G          2=2+2
P          24P       6G          2=1*2

==>69,70 or 71 in box-1 ;  18,19, or 20 in box-2  ;  27,28, or 29  in box-3
get -3 , -4 , or -5 in box-2 in 3 steps.Use all operations i.e. ( +,-,*,/ ).

OR  same numbers in box1 and box2 but in box3 61,62, or 63 and u have to get same numbers in box2.

==>Another example is AB in box1, AC in box2,BC in box3 then
get  2C(B+A)-B(C-3A) in box1  in 4 steps  or 2A(B+C)+AC-2C(A-B) in 3 steps

This is very simple.Simplify it and proceed and use addition of same box in 2nd step and continue...

==>-1,0 or 2    -A        A,(A-1),(A+1)
get   A(A-1)(A-1)A in box-2 and in 3 steps,Use all operations

GODREJ PAPER

Heya

Pls go thru this paper.i am sure it  will help u clear d apti.thevery first page is full of instructions n rules(3)(veryimp) and examples(2)[read it carefully]

The test is known as box test 2D

10,5 ,7 in box1,box2 , box 3.get 12 in box 1                      U have to write the box no in the brackets

and 15 in box3.use add only.no of steps reqd =3.                  along with d operation used.

box-1    box-2    box-3                                                                               Result

Example 1:  10             5            7                                box no.                 box no.

Step1        5+7=12      5            7                                [2]               +          [3]       =    [1]

Step 2:        12             5      5+5=10                           [2]               +          [2]       =    [3]

Step 3:        12             5     10+5=15                          [2]               +          [3]       =    [3]

Rules:

1. n+m=n or m where n,m are box no’s.(if in the final step u get it in this form…UR ANSWER IS RIGHT)n*m=n or m

2. don’t remember..something related to subtraction I guess..

3. n/m=dividend..ignore the remainder

(if 9.9..take 9..donot round off)

Note:

U have to get the values in  specified no. of steps given in each problem.if u get it in less no of steps then be sure U R GOING WRONG SOMEwhere.n if u exceed the no of steps  as mentioned in d problem then be ready for 25%negative marking(though they have given space for additional steps)

Moreover,even if u get d correct value in only one of the boxes… ur score is zero for that particular problem.(consider the above example:if u get 12 in box 1 but 25 in box 3 then u will not gain ne  mark..i.e,no marks for half right answer..no marks for d steps.).for each problem ,they will mention the no.of  steps as well as the operation .

Total questions:10

Time:1 hr

1. 58,13,18  get 40 in box 1 and   85 in box3..use add only..3 steps.

Godrej Placement Paper : Godrej Aptitude - Numerical

GOODREJ INFOTECH  -16 MAR 2006 - MUMBAI
It is the different kind of test they called it box test

There boxes are given with some value u have to use given arithmetic operators and steps and u have to get required number in appropriate box, No negative marking, Only if the steps increase then 25% negative marking for each step

The Questions I remember are

1. Three boxes 1,2,3 contain values 3,17,34 get 40 in box 1 in 3 steps

2. box 1 cotain odd value X or Y the box 2 =X i.e 7 or 12 box 3= Y has value 19 if  X is 7 or 31 if x is 12 get even value X or Y Use any operator
steps allowed 3

3.The three boxes 1,2,3 has values resp. AB,BC,AC Get 2A(B+C)+AC-2C(A-B)
in Box 1 using only addition in 3 steps
